Life is like tissue paper, life is like a movie, life is like a movie player, life is like this, life is like that…So many theories and philosophies about what life is. Now here comes another one…

Life is like a song…A song with many different rhythms, many different tunes, many different levels of loudness…

Sometimes, life moves at an enjoyable pace, where you really enjoy the “rhythm” of life. You just love the breezy feeling of the way your life moves. But there are also times when life seems to move with a rhythm that weighs you down. Things seem to change so fast that you struggle to stay in phase with life.

Sometimes, life sounds very sweet. You love life when everything goes your way. You love life when the “tune” of your life is the way you want it. But sometimes, life may not be as sweet as you want it to be. Life may be a song that hurts you.

Sometimes, the sound of life can be soothing and pleasing. Your life’s music can help ease the pains of your life. But sometimes, its your life that causes the pain. The “volume” of your life could be painful.

But whatever happens, stay confident that such bad times are just a passing cloud. Remember the “Ants’ philosophy” – After winter, a spring comes. Remember that the real spice of life is this variety of experiences that you have. When you face the painful music of life, just remember,

REMEMBER…Life is a game, but it is a game where you get only one life. Make the most of your life. Sing the song of life and enjoy its music, because you don’t know when it’ll be Game Over. So, while you have the gift of life, SING FOR THE MOMENT !!!

YOUR LIFE HAS A PSYCHIC PREDICTOR - AND THAT'S YOU

26 October 2010 – HEADLINES : “Paul, the Psychic Octopus, dead”….I spent the rest of the evening listening to news about Prophet Paul, the psychic octopus, because more than I’d been a fan of Argentina or Spain in the FIFA World Cup this year, I was a fan of the octopus. Listening to those news items, it didn’t feel like just another news item. In some way, it felt like a ‘new’ item for me. I just thought about Paul’s rise to fame and its death. “The octopus made so many great predictions during the World Cup…It predicted so many players’ attainment of glory…But was there anyone to predict Paul’s death ? Guess the only person who could have predicted its death was Paul himself !!”

During my so-called ‘study-time’, I kept thinking about this. (And it was a lot more interesting than studying for the test I had the next day). This whole concept of predicting our rise and fall felt so suited to us, homo sapiens. We are the only living creatures blessed with the 6^th sense. And its that sixth sense that makes us the “predictors” of the direction in which our life goes.

All our actions have its consequences. Good actions lead to consequences that we will enjoy and cherish. Wrong actions lead to consequences that we will always regret. We have to think, think twice, think thrice and understand what our actions would lead to. We are the only people who can “predict” the consequences of our actions before the world actually knows about our actions.

With good intentions, if you do things that are considered good and acceptable, it leads to your rise, which you could have predicted even before you did it. If your actions are not acceptable, it leads to your fall. It leads to a state where your image is damaged – a fall that you could have predicted, but did not.

So everybody……Think, think and think before doing or saying anything. Go by your conscience. Follow your heart, not your mind, to know if what you are doing is right. Let the “Prophet” in you predict what you are going to be.

Prophet Paul may be dead…But the “Prophet Paul” of your life lives on…And that is what will lead you to your destiny….That is what will make you “The Son of Destiny”…

THE TISSUE PAPER VIEW OF LIFE

The world has seen so many great philosophers who have given many different views of life. Now here comes the most ridiculous philosophy about life…

People usually consider tissue paper to be something very low, because its purpose isn’t something that demands a lot of respect. But nothing in this world is of lower importance than the rest. Having an open mind may make your brains spill out, but you need an open mind to really understand the value of things around you and how their value has an impact on your life.

In life, you may not want to be a tissue paper in one way, but you have to be a tissue paper in another. You always want people to be with you always. You wish that you never leave them and they never leave you. You definitely don’t want people to treat you like “tissue paper” – a person whom they be with when they need and just leave when they have no need of you. Don’t treat people like tissue paper, and don’t be a person who’ll end being treated as tissue paper…

But in one way you have to be a tissue paper. Be a tissue paper that can wipe off pain and suffering from a person. Everyone has their own shortcomings, problems, difficulties and so many other things that stop them from rising as high as they are capable of. We must have the heart to be the “tissue paper” that wipes away the dirt from their heart and the tears from their eyes.

Be a tissue paper that can be used at any time. Be a tissue paper that can be used even if torn by the harsh handling by someone. Be a tissue paper that’ll always be there for the people who will need you.

It doesn’t matter even if someone has hurt you a lot…A really good ‘tissue paper’ is one that’ll still be with them…

And what I love most about life’s tissue papers is that they come with beautiful brand names – “FRIENDS”, “FAMILY”, “SCHOOL”…

So be the tissue paper that makes a difference in a person’s life, because the job of a tissue paper is not low…It is one that can be held high in the hierarchy…

2 = A NUMBER, 1 = A NUMBER....THEREFORE, 2=1 !!!

Before I start….please do not get irritated by the title and leave the place. Please read on and you’ll know the relation between my post and the logic in this stupid mathematical statement…

Our life is our responsibility. Our relationships are our responsibility. Does that make our life similar to relationships ?

In life, we have to take the initiative to take the “U-turns”, so that our life moves smoothly. In our relationships too, we have to take the U-turns, so that our relationships are smooth. Does that make our life similar to relationships ?

Well….if simple logic can prove that 2=1, then all we need is even simpler logic to show that life very much resembles relationships.

Values in a relationship become values for our life. Our relationships with others make us what we are. Our relationships help us experience what life is all about. There are certain qualities of any relationship that must get inbuilt into our lives, so that we make the most out of it.

·        PASSION : Any relationship is incomplete without passion. Passion is when your relationship for the person is really heartfelt. It is when you feel like you can do anything and everything for them.

·        COMMITMENT : Its when you feel like you can do anything for your dear ones. Its when you will do anything just to be with them.

·        DEDICATION :  Its when you want to be with them always and you feel like your life is so incomplete without them.

·        SACRIFICE : This is the culmination of everything else about a relationship. Its when you will do anything just to be with the person who has made that big difference in your life.

Simply put, your life is your biggest relationship. Your life is your relationship with yourself. Once you understand that, you’ll start loving your life more and you’ll “discover the diamond” in you. And you’ll do anything to keep that diamond of your life safe. And then you’ll know that even though life and relationships feel as different as 1 and 2, the result in this case is that 2=1 !!!!

TRIBUTE TO MY TEACHERS

They make me wat I m.....This is my tribute to my gr8 teachers....

September 5 – A day for us to remember our teachers, a day for our teachers to remember their teachers, a day for our teachers’ teachers to remember their teachers and so on… And this is the perfect time to reflect on the value of our teachers in our lives.

Life is incomplete without learning. Learning is part of our everyday life. In every phase of our lives, we have something to learn and in every phase of our lives, we have new teachers.

So, who exactly is a teacher ? “A person who keeps talking when the listeners are no longer interested”. Ok, forget the jokes and sarcasm – lets get serious. How can one define a teacher ? A teacher is any person, young or old, friend or stranger, from whom one gains some information or knowledge that helps in the constructive progress and enrichment of their life…Hate it so complicated ? Let me make it simpler.

A teacher is a ladder. The ladder is there for us always and is there to help us reach the top. But even though the ladder aids students to reach the top, it just stays there, rooted to its spot. It doesn’t move anywhere, but just waits for the next set of students to climb the ladder of life and reach the pinnacle of success.

If life were like chemistry, then teachers are the representation of catalysts. Let us consider the reaction called “STUDENT LIFE” –

STUDENTS + GOAL + HARDWORK ,in the presence of TEACHERS, leads to SUCCESS + HAPPINESS

There is one dispensable part in this reaction – the catalyst. This reaction is impossible without the catalyst. The catalysts are always there for the reactants to react, but they don’t change in any way. They just keep waiting for the next set of reactants – new students, new goals, with that one constant reactant “Hardwork”. Our “Pursuit of Happyness” has a big void without the presence of teachers.

Knowing the definition of a teacher is not sufficient. Our next question must be – “How does a teacher feel while on duty ?”

To answer this, let me quote a beautiful saying that featured in the September 2010 edition of “Frozen Thoughts”.

“If a doctor, lawyer, or dentist had 40 people in his office at one time, all of whom had different needs, and some of whom didn’t want to be there and were causing trouble, and the doctor, lawyer, or dentist, without assistance had to treat them all with professional excellence for nine months, then he might have some conception of the classroom teacher’s job.”

 Phew…that feels like a lot of work ! Now, we can surely appreciate how tough it actually is for a teacher during class . (For teachers reading this : This statement doesn’t imply that we’ll stop what we’re doing now. But as an act of appreciation, we’ll try to keep it down…. J )

Our teachers do so much for us, a really inexpressible amount. What can we do for our teachers in return ?

“What we have given to our teachers can be measured;

What our teachers have given us can never be measured.”  

How true ! There is nothing that can equal what our teachers do for us. There is only one thing that teachers want from us, in return – the compulsory reactant of the reaction of Student Life, “HARDWORK”. Because, whenever our teachers see us, they have only one dream – to see us with the end-products of the reaction, “SUCCESS & HAPPINESS”.

So everybody, lets make a resolution to do this for our teachers, because this is the greatest act of gratitude that we can show for all that our great teachers have done for us.

And to all the teachers, “THANK YOU !!!”

Thank You for all that you’ve done for us…Thank You for all the faith you’ve shown in us…Thank You for always being there for us…

LIVING SOCIALLY - ONLINE

My gratitude to the one thing that changed wat I was, wat I m and wat I wll b....The one thing that really helped me define wat I really m....SOCIAL NETWORKING.....

The world has changed and the basic necessities of the people have also changed. A person can live without food “if” he tries, he can live without water “if” he tries, he can live without anything in the world “if” he tries ...... But he just can’t live without a computer, more so, without the internet. To be more specific, he just cannot live without social networking. Simply put, this has become the Era of Social Networking.

Orkut, Facebook, Twitter – these terms have become a part and parcel of our lives. Everyone keeps in touch with others through the internet and by everyone, I mean “EVERYONE”. Politicians like Barack Obama, Shahi Tharoor, journalists like Barkha Dutt of NDTV, authors like Chetan Bhagat, sportstars like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Narain Karthikeyan, film stars (absolutely everyone in this field), iconic people like Lalit Modi, and even people like The Dalai Lama- everyone has an account on a major social networking site, just like you and me.

So why exactly do people join SN sites? There are various reasons for this, but here are the few things that I feel are the real crowd pullers of SN sites.

1) Friends - SN sites are a place for friends, friends and more friends. SN sites help to build this huge chain of friends by a simple three point mechanism:

·         Keep in touch with old friends.

·         Establish strong relationship with your friends – past and present.

·         Make new friends.

 How many ever reasons there may be for people to join SN sites, this will remain as the ultimate reason. After all SN sites are a huge treasure chest of friends.

2) It helps you break your pot of emotion -  Everyone has something in their hearts that is like a big burden in their life . It maybe something that cannot be explained verbally. But on SN sites, there is absolutely nothing that cannot be expressed with your fingers. Just pour out your feelings and you’ll find that you have so many people who support you – so many people to lend their hand and pull you back up when you fall down.

3) It is a huge motivating factor- SN sites maybe just a place to keep in touch with friends, but there is something about them that can ignite a fire in you. The support of your friends can motivate you  so much so that you can even make the impossible, possible. So the next time some weird ‘Octopus Paul’ application on Facebook tells you that you can’t do something that you want to do, then just say to yourself “Even if the real Octopus Oracle tells me that I can’t do it, I will do it so, no damn Facebook Octopus can stop me”.

SN sites have become the ultimate place to share your joy, your sorrow, your gain and your pain.

There are still many people who think that usage of SN sites is “wrong” and “punishable”. They feel that we do not use it in a right way, we don’t know about staying safe online, and we are just wasting our time on things like this. Well to all those people who think so, please understand that nothing is created with inbuilt disadvantages. It all depends upon its use. The same hold good for SN sites too.  Its purpose is fulfilled only when we use it in the right way. So it is our duty to use SN sites in the right way, throw light on their real advantages and use them to make it big in this “social” world.
